Who's ready for some motivation, a chance to engage with club members, burn some holiday calories and enjoy some friendly competition?
Pay attention! Right here! DETAILS and INSTRUCTIONS
ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE by Friday, November 27th! RSVP to the event invitation on Facebook in the members-only group. You will then be placed into teams of four, chosen by our training coordinators, Stacy and Tracy.
Designate a team captain among your group who will receive a spreadsheet to log the team mileage weekly, send to the training directors, Stacy and Tracy, who will then share with the club page weekly as well.
Your job will be to log your own cycling and running/walking miles throughout the month of December and submit to your captain.
Your team goal is to accumulate 500 cycling miles and 150 run/walk miles. When your team reaches these goals, you'll be entered into a raffle for a prize drawing during our end of the month happy hour.
BUT DONT STOP THERE! There's also an additional INDIVIDUAL challenge. The person with the most cycling miles and the one with the most run/walk miles will also win prizes.
Lets make this fun and social! It's a great opportunity to meet new club members and possibly even become a valued mentor. Either way, it's a chance to encourage and keep each other motivated and moving throughout the holiday season!
Now go back and reread the instructions and follow them. And remember, RSVP by THIS FRIDAY 27th via the FB event page.
This message is intended to reach any of our members who may be racing or attending Ironman Florida or Gulf Coast 70.3. We received the following information from Ironman:
"Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, IRONMAN will NOT host a TriClub Village at events in 2020. Clubs are highly encouraged to not gather in large groups. While this year is very different, we are excited to return to racing and to see our TriClub Program members cross the finish line!
A FEW REMINDERS:
NO spectators at this event.
Face coverings are required at all times unless racing.
There will be no viewing areas for this race besides Volunteering.
IRONMAN is not responsible for any clubs that do not adhere to the rules."
If you're racing or attending, be safe and race strong!
On October 9, we emailed a ballot to all members via Survey Monkey. If you haven't yet completed your ballot, please do so and submit. Word on the street is that some of you found yours in your spam folder so please check there if you haven't received one. We will close the online voting process after Sunday 18th.

It has also come to our attention that many of our members are unaware that we are a charitable corporation operating under a 501c3 status. The fact is, roughly half of your membership dues go directly into the charitable fund each year. We withhold a small amount to cover operating expenses such as liability insurance for the members, accounting fees, Racereach management fees (the platform we use for registering and reaching members), awards and contributions to the annual club banquet and various incidental expenses. When you join FWTRI Club Friends Who Tri, you're not only joining a supportive community of like minded athletes, you're making an impact on lives in the local community. Over the years we've given thousands to support the Fort Worth Drowning Prevention Coalition and other charitable organizations thanks to you.
We realize that this year has been so far removed from normal racing seasons but we have a lot of members signed up and training for races that will hopefully be happening in the 2021 season and would love for all of you to be part of that. This oddity cannot last forever! Until then, train smart and stay connected. Almost all of our communication occurs on the members' only Facebook page so please plug into that if you're not already.
Our annual club membership cycle is February 1 through January 31. If you have already renewed your membership for the 2020 season, thank you!
As a 501c3 non-profit organization, membership contribution allows our triathlon club in Fort Worth to remain dedicated to having fun with the sport we love while giving back to our local community in ways that further the sport.
You can renew online by logging in with your email and password on our website. https://fwtriclub.com
Please remember that 99.9% of our club communication is handled on our MEMBERS' ONLY Facebook page. Please check in there regularly as meetings, socials, races, training rides, group runs and swims are posted there. Don't forget to adjust your settings so that you're being notified of ALL posts within the page to avoid missing out on upcoming activities. Additionally, the club discounts are posted there and are updated regularly as more races and products are added.
We hope that you're able to make it to the group ride this Sunday at 10 a.m. Please check the FB page for details and bring a friend or family member along if you'd like! Also, we have the swim clinic scheduled for February 9 at noon and the annual club banquet is March 14. See you there!
Is this a real club? I joined earlier in the summer and noticed there has only been one event. Do members regularly meet somewhere to workout? What about races? I'm in the Fort Worth area and am searching for people to train with.
Please use the following link (if you did not see it on the club facebook page) to vote on Recognition Awards for the 2017 season:
For the recognition awards we have the following definitions they may be helpful in your voting:
The objective of the Kilinski Founders award is to recognize someone who has consistently given of their time to be an ambassador and advocate to grow the club and its standing in the community.
The Presidents distinguished service award is designed to recognize someone who selflessly and frequently donates their time and efforts to assist the club and our membership in our endeavors.
Hi. I am new to FW and new to the FW Trip Club and was looking to see if anyone had any recommendations for a local Tri coach to prepare for some upcoming half and full IM's. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated.
